Tsunami Page 22
A Tsunami is a very large and powerful wave. It's a Japanese word for "harbor wave." Some of the things that cause tsunami are earthquakes, landslides, volcanic eruptions, and meteorite impacts. Some of the warning signs are if you feel a strong earthquake, see the sea draw back from the beach, or hear a siren or an official warning. If any of these happen don't do any of the following things or you will wonder why you're in the hospital: go to the beach, pack your kit, go to higher ground by car, pack your valuables, sleep, panic, or go back after the first wave. These are some of the things that you should do: know where is the nearest escape route, remain calm, protect yourself, wait for an official all clear, and immediately go to higher ground or go inland. Landslides are huge sections of Earth that are falling down. Meteorites are rocks from space that fall to Earth.
