Earthquake page 7
Earthquakes are the sudden movement of the ground and are caused by the movement of the tectonic plates. The magnitude of an earthquake is measured by a Richter scale. Earthquakes that have a magnitude higher than a 4 can cause severe damage and can even cause a tsunami. During an earthquake you should do the following: if inside get under something away from glass, if outside get out into the open, stay away from fallen wires, stay away from fuel tanks, and stay away from buildings. Tectonic plates are where most earthquakes are formed. Richter scales measure the magnitude of an earthquake.
