Mitosis Page 15
Mitosis is the process of a single cell dividing into two cells, each one of which is the same as the original cell. There are four phases in which mitosis takes place. The phases are called prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase. In ordinary words mitosis could simply be called cell division. Cell division is when one cell splits into two cells. Phase is a distinct period of stage in the process of change.
